God Whispers to Us

"God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains; it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world."

~C.S. Lewis

I Believe

"I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else."

~C.S. Lewis

Courage, Dear Heart

 "Courage, Dear Heart."

~C.S. Lewis from The Voyage of The Dawn Treader

Peace in the Storm

Anyone who listens to my teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.  Though the rain comes in torrent's and the floodwaters rise and the winds beat against that house, it won't collapse because it is built on bedrock.

~Matthew 7:24-25

My Hope is in You

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior; and my hope is in you.

~Psalm 25:5 NIV

"Do Not be Afraid"

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.  ~Deuteronomy 31:8 NIV

Prayer:  Loving God, thank you for carrying and holding us.  When we have fallen, when we are broken, when we can no longer move you call, "Do Not be afraid."  In every situation of our lives help us to res in you.  Amen

A Part of My Life ~ Always!

I ran across some pictures today that I have not seen in a long time.  My baby girl was so beautiful inside and out.  This was a trip to Colorado Springs.  We visited the Old Town of Colorado Springs.  I miss her every minute of every day.  As time goes back my love for my daughter has grown just as much as if she were still living here on earth.  She is as much a part of my life today "as the air that I breathe and the food and water that nourish  my body.  Therefore I shall not fear losing someone who has been, and is, a part of me."  She's a part of my life ~ Always.

Ask for the Ancient Paths

Thus says the Lord:  "Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls."

~Jeremiah 6:18 ESV

The Work of Your Hands

And the heavens are the work of your hands...

Before the Rain at Garden of the Gods

A panoramic view of Garden of the Gods in Colorado, Springs. I took these pictures from the Welcome Center facing the garden.  You can see the rain clouds moving in.  It had been raining daily for a week creating a raging flood in nearby Manitou Springs.  The town was devastated.  We drove through and many stores were still cleaning up from the flood.

'A Boundless Moment' by Robert Frost

A Boundless Moment

He halted in the wind, and -- what was that
Far in the maples, pale, but not a ghost?
He stood there bringing March against his thought,
And yet too ready to believe the most.

"Oh, that's the Paradise-in-bloom," I said;
And truly it was fair enough for flowers
had we but in us to assume in march
Such white luxuriance of May for ours.

We stood a moment so in a strange world,
Myself as one his own pretense deceives;
And then I said the truth (and we moved on).
A young beech clinging to its last year's leaves

Nature's Caravan of red, gold and silver

This was an park we visited in Colorado Springs.  The landscaping of the trees really made the park a beautiful place for both kids and adults.  The park benches were under glorious shade trees and the street was decorated in a caravan of red, gold and silver trees against the backdrop of the Pike Peak mountain range

Entrance to Legends

Entrance to the myths and Legend of Pike's Peak is how I would start a novel of the ancient civilization that lived here.

Naure's Watercolor Wash

I have studied watercolor techniques and you apply several washes to your canvas working on the different levels of color.  Working from the light to the dark and to the vibrant details as finish touches.  I applied several watercolor washes to this photo but it is pale in comparison to the real thing.

Silver Silhouette of Splendor

A silver silhouette that caught my eye among the bright autumn leaves.  A small birch tree had already lost its leaves but yet its slim branches reached out with silver splendor and touched the sky.

"From Where I Stand" Vol 3

As night falls, you try to capture every moment and breathe in all you can to carry it with you through the night. Until once again, day light comes and you can join nature in all her splendor.

"From Where I Stand" Vol 2

The veiw is endless; the limitation of the human eye cannot grasp the distance of the far beyond.

Protrait of a Wild Turkey Neighbor

As we climbed around the mountain side, we had been warned about mountain lions and bears; instead, we encountered a flock of wild turkeys.  Photo taken by DW Fallin.  I applied a watercolor wash; I like this photo painting.
