It is winter in Florida with strong winds, gray skies, rain and lots of migrating birds. Took a hike on the Guana Loop Trail and Marshview Lane at the GTM National Estuarine Reserve. Even though it rain heavily the day before, the trail was dry and cold enough to keep the snakes hibernating.

"To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird's nest or a wildflower in spring -- these are some of the rewards of the simple life."
John Burroughs was an American naturalist and nature essayist, active in the U.S. conservation movement. The first of his essay collections was Wake-Robin in 1871.
Beauty from a walk, simple and serene, a restful mindful beauty.
"With beauty before me, may I walk
With beauty behind me, may I walk
With beauty above me, may I walk
With beauty below me, may I walk
Wandering on the trail of beauty, may I walk"
