The Rehearsal Dinner

The wedding rehearsal of my daughter and son-in-law was at The Market in Columbus, Ga. I used special brush techniques for a watercolor effect. I used Photo Shop Premium Elements. The watercolor layer gives it the texture of a color wash.

Snake Creek, Heard County Ga.

Snake Creek is off highway 27 in Heard County. It is a secluded park for people who enjoy fishing on the backwaters. It was a quick side trip that also included a spring shower. Red mud was the rule of the day for the long winding country road that is mostly traveled by hunters. Tourist can easily get lost on the long stretch of red clay. I ask my husband to turn around when the road was flooded and I knew my Honda Civic would never make it across the deep puddles. I did not see any snakes but I did not try to look for one either!

Fields Landing Park, Allatoona Lake

My granddaughter Lyssa had her high school graduation luncheon at Fields Landing Park at Allatoona Lake. Allatoona Lake is located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There were a flock of geese and one lone duck swimming around the shore line. I believe the duck thought he was a goose? On the other side of the lake is Little River Marina where we stopped for lunch the next day. There were a pack of ducks at that end of the lake and there were no geese in sight. Geese on one end and ducks on the other. Makes you wonder?

River Walk, Columbus, Ga.

These pictures of River Walk and the surrounding area were taken on a Sunday morning. It was very quiet and the town was still sleeping. The Chattahoochee River was calm and serene. It brought back childhood memories of growing up on 27th Street and River Drive. I played on the banks of the Chattahoochee River with childhood friends. We enjoyed plum fights and baseball games and sliding down the hillside in old cardboard boxes.

Rankin Gardens & Atrium, Columbus, Ga.

My daughter and son-in-law were married in a beautiful evening wedding at the Rankin Gardens & Atrium in historical downtown Columbus, Ga. I will always cherish the memories of lavender roses, tealights and the soft twlight glow around the arbor. It was a magical evening of love and celebration.

Rain Clouds, Moultrie, Ga

The dark clouds were following us as my husband and I were driving through south Georgia. The large flat opened fields gave us a panoramic view of the skyline. The rain caught-up with us in this race down the backroads. Too many clouds; we were out numbered.

Church of the Seven Sisters, Fitzpatrick AL.

I had the pleasure of attending my daughter and son-in-law's couple shower in April that was held in Fitzpatrick, AL. The beauty of the church and its surroundings were truly a garden planned with love and dedication by those seven sisters.

A Country Church, Sixes, Georgia

Sixes, Georgia is an unincorporated town in Cherokee County. Several generations of my ancestors are buried at the Sixes United Methodist Church. To preserve memories of the historical building, I took these pictures before they have built the new church. The grave yard is located in the back. A parking lot is being constructed and a subdivision surrounds the grave yard. Historical places are slowly being consumed. These are memories of a country church.
